MBBCh DA MRCGP DRCOG Glasgow 1981
Born in Glasgow, educated at Comprehensive school, and graduated from Glasgow medical school in 1983. He then took vocational training in Bath, followed by a year’s anaesthetics, obtaining Diploma of Royal college of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. Diploma in Anaesthetics and membership of Royal College of General Practitioners.
He joined the practice in 1988, is on the minor surgery list, obstetric list and the child health surveillance list. He was involved in developing a ‘young person’s’ contraceptive service within the local community, providing family planning services.
MBChB (Leicester 1998) MRCP MRCGP
Born and grew up in Yorkshire, with medical training at Leicester University, graduating in 1998. After graduating spent 4 years in hospital General Medicine, obtaining Membership of the Royal College of Physicians. Then undertook 4 years of specialist training in Nephrology at Derby and Nottingham hospitals, including a year of research at Nottingham University. Entered the Vocational Training Scheme in Leicester, obtaining Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2008. He joined the practice in January 2010. His medical interests include chronic disease management and specifically cardiovascular disease.
MBBs Newcastle 1998
Dr Cleaver was born and educated in Coventry, then undertook her medical training at the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne. She graduated in 1998 and worked at North Tyneside Hospital for a year, before returning to Coventry to be nearer to her family and undertake a 3 year GP Training scheme. Dr Cleaver joined the practice in 2002. Her interests include women’s health, mental health issues and she undertakes Epley manoeuvre for vertigo and fits pessaries for prolapse.
MBChB (Sheffield 2006), MRCGP, MFSRH, PGCertMedEd, LOC IUS/Implant.
Having started life in Leicestershire, Dr Lawrence went on to train at Sheffield Medical School. Having worked in Yorkshire in a variety of specialities he returned to Leicestershire to commence the Vocational Training Scheme in 2008.
He lives locally with his family and loves working and contributing to the area he grew up in. He is excited about growing and developing primary care services in the area.
He joined the practice in 2011 and is now one of the partners in the practice.
In 2013 he became a registered trainer and the practice was awarded training status. Dr Lawrence is now involved in training the next generation of Doctors on a daily basis. He is also a qualified Appraiser to assess other General Practitioners.
Within the practice he offers above his core work: Minor Surgery Sessions, Contraceptive services and is also now registered as a National trainer for Long acting Contraceptive devices.
Dr Lawrence works on a weekly basis for the on call Service which can be accessed Out of Hours via the 111 service.
MBChB, MRCGP, DFSRH Leicester 2006
Born and educated in Bristol, attended medical school at the University of Leicester and graduated in 2006. Dr Holt has remained in Leicester since and completed two years of junior doctor posts and three years vocational GP training, having completed the GP training programme in 2012 and has worked in the area since.
Dr Holt joined the practice in 2013 and is interested in women and childrens health.

Born in Glasgow but moved to Leicestershire as a child. Graduated Leicester University in 1998. Worked in Leicester as a GP for many years before deciding to work in Earl Shilton. Enjoys films, driving days and playing the piano, would love to try the saxophone next!
MBChB (Birmingham 2010) BSc. MSc. DRCOG, MRCGP.
Dr Hewins was born and grew up in Birmingham and Solihull. She attained a BSc at the University of Nottingham in 2003, before studying for a Masters degree in Switzerland in 2006, which was awarded by the University of Edinburgh. Dr Hewins graduated in 2010 from Birmingham Medical School where she stayed on to undertake her foundation training years, before moving to Leicestershire to complete the local GP training scheme. She is enthusiastic about sport and runs regularly, in addition to playing for a local mixed hockey team.
Heath Lane Surgery is a training practice, we teach doctors wanting to become GP's at the practice. These GP Registrars are fully qualified doctors in training to become a GP.

Born and brought up in South Manchester, moving to Leicester to study medicine in 2008. Following graduation she spent 2 years working in Northampton and Leicester as part of her foundation training. Since starting training to become a GP she has worked in LOROS (palliative care), Psychiatry, Community Paediatrics and Oncology. She first joined the practice in August 2017. Dr Armstead lives locally and in her spare time enjoys baking and walking her dog.

Leah is an experienced practice manager with 14 years experience of working in general practice. During these years her roles have included reception, administration, secretarial, dispensing, assistant practice manager and practice manager. She enjoys new challenges and is keen to continue to build on services available to patients with the help of her team.

Jeanette has varied experience of NHS work, having previously worked in the Care Sector and Glenfield Breast Care Centre before becoming a General Practice Assistant Manager in 2006. She enjoys providing assistance and support to the Practice Manager, Doctors and the rest of the team and contributing in helping to develop the practice for the longer term.
Our receptionists and administration staff provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

Antenatal care is provided by the community midwife. Clinics are held on Thursdays. Pre-conception advice and postnatal checks are performed by the practice nurses together with contraceptive advice.
Other health professionals visit the practice to offer services such as the District Nurses, Mental Health Facilitator, Audiologist, Substance Misuse, Practice Therapist. Please ask the reception team for details.
