Non-NHS Services

Some services are not covered by the NHS and there may be a charge for them.

Examples include:

• Medical examinations for jobs, sports activities, or driving licences (such as HGV or taxi licences)
• Insurance forms and reports
• Letters or prescriptions needed when travelling abroad with medication
• Private sick notes
• Vaccination certificates

The fees for these services are based on guidance from the British Medical Association (BMA).

Booking a Medical Examination

If you need a medical examination for an HGV, PSV, or taxi licence, please contact the surgery well before your licence expires.

These appointments are arranged directly between the doctor and the patient and often take place outside normal surgery hours. This means the doctor needs time to plan and schedule the appointment.

Unfortunately, we may not be able to arrange medical examinations at short notice.
