Patient Communication

All NHS staff must keep your medical information private and secure.

If you are 16 or over, we cannot share your medical information, test results or appointment details with anyone else unless you have given us permission.

We understand that family members, friends and carers often help patients with their healthcare. However, to protect your privacy, we must have your consent before discussing your care with another person.

If you would like a family member, friend or carer to speak to us on your behalf, please let the practice know in writing. We will record this in your medical record and can then communicate with your chosen representative when needed.

Our staff are not being difficult. They are following the law and helping to keep your information safe and confidential.
